Super Mario Bros. Famicom Playing Cards No. 100

Release: 1985

Manufacturer: Amada

This set of childrens No. 100 mini playing cards by Amada is intriguing, given that Nintendo is well known for manufacturing its own playing cards. So why is that not the case here?

Perhaps Nintendo had their work cut out growing their emerging videogame business, or maybe more simply Nintendo was not shy when it came to licensing its intellectual property.

It is known that Amada produced many different Family Computer branded items such as pencil tins and other stationery goods, so most likely it was part of a wider range of similarly branded items.

Whatever the reason, and in typical Japanese fashion, this sure is a cute addition to the Nintendo playing card family!
