Create your own microgames
Released in 2010 for the Nintendo DS, WarioWare D.I.Y. (short for Do It Yourself) allowed players to step into the shoes of a game designer. This UK version, known as WarioWare: Made in Me, enabled users to create, share, and play their own microgames, putting the power of game creation into the hands of players. The game maintained the signature fast-paced, quirky style of the WarioWare series but added a creative twist that made it stand out.
Unleash your creativity
In WarioWare D.I.Y., players could use the DS’s touch screen and simple tools to design custom microgames. Each game consisted of a few seconds of gameplay with simple rules, and players could design everything—from the game mechanics to the artwork and music. Once created, these microgames could be played instantly, shared with friends, and even uploaded to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (though this feature was eventually shut down).
A true DIY experience
The game also featured a built-in gallery of pre-made microgames, allowing players to enjoy Wario’s typical zany antics while they created their own. Its focus on creativity and user-generated content made it a unique title, perfect for fans who wanted to dive deeper into game design while enjoying the signature humour and charm of the WarioWare series. WarioWare D.I.Y. was a fun, innovative addition to the DS library that blended gaming and creativity in a way few other games had.
